Termites
Fix leaking drains or pipes inside house or under the house (in sub-floor areas).

Install agricultural drains in the ground to reduce any natural seepage of water.

Remove all formwork and unnecessary wood in or on the ground, especially in sub-floor areas.

Store wood for fires and other items off the ground.

Remove dead trees and grind out tree stumps.

Use termite-resistant timbers for flooring (especially for wood flooring on concrete foundations) and structural supports.

Ensure that bases of pergola and other posts in ground are set on stirrups and not covered by soil.

Ensure ant caps are on all brick piers and wood house stumps to expose termite activity.

Ensure all stormwater drains are in good repair and not clogged, and all drainpipes are soakwelled away from house walls.
